July 23, 2015 – Soule & Stull sponsored a hole and fielded a foursome for the 19th Annual MAIBA Scholarship Golf Tournament at The Meadows at Mystic Lake on July 23. The tournament raises scholarship funds for American Indian law students in Minnesota. Former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Helen Meyer and Capital Safety Corporate Counsel Anton van der Merwe joined George and Melissa. It was a beautiful day on the course with magnificent water features, native prairie grasses and flowers, and animal sculptures. The foursome had great conversations and many good shots, but benefited from the “no score higher than a par” rule. George is former President of MAIBA and now serves as Judge on the White Earth Nation Court of Appeals.
July 2015 – Super Lawyers placed George on its The Top 100 list of Minnesota lawyers and named Melissa a Rising Star in its 2015 rankings. George has received Super Lawyer designation each year since 1998 and Melissa has been a Rising Star for three years.

March 6, 2015 – George and Melissa spent last week in Gainesville, Florida defending Vermeer Manufacturing Company in a lawsuit brought in Alachua County. Nidal Boughannam sued Alachua Farm & Lumber, Vermeer Manufacturing Company, and Vermeer Southeast Sales for injuries he sustained to his foot while standing near a Vermeer stump cutter. Vermeer and Soule & Stull defended the design of the stump cutter, explaining throughout litigation and trial that the stump cutter was well designed and did not cause Mr. Boughannam’s accident. After three days of trial, plaintiffs’ counsel voluntarily dismissed plaintiffs’ claims against Vermeer and its dealer with prejudice.
Soule & Stull is happy to report this trial victory and looks forward to the next opportunity to defend its clients at trial.
